Cool Tkr

Hi, I just had a TKR on January 30, 2013 It went pretty good except that two days later while in the hospital and on all those drugs the nurses brought me to the bathroom and left me. I got up and went down. I split my incision wide open and I sat on the floor staring at the inside of my knee. They moved very fast and I was in surgery again 3 hours later to be cleaned out and checked and to try to prevent infection witch is very high with this surgery without splitting it open. So my advice to all you future TKR's Do not let them leave you alone for even a second. The drugs you are on the first 48 hours are so very powerful.
I am doing very well inspite all this. I am experiencing waves of flu like symptoms at times. Very cold and shakey so hopefully that passes soon. Today is better then yesterday with that.

Re: Tkr

Oh Man that really stinks big time. I'm sorry that had happened. YIKES!!
I am on week 7 of my tkr and doing pretty good. I know its slow going but still in all i didn't expect to be where i'm at at this point. My therapist thinks i only have a week left. I would be ok with another 2 not that i want to go through the torcher of therapy but at least its gotten me this far so far.
