    MRI Results on Knee

I need help interpreting my MRI results

the results of my MRI are as follows: Patellofemoral joint articular cartilage demonstrates mild to moderate partial thickness chondral loss meially and laterally on the patella. The trochlear articular carilage demonstrates mild chondral thinning medially and laterally. There is mild chondral thinning in the medial and lateral femorotibial compartments of the knee.

They are planning a cortisone shot rather than arthoscopy is this the right course of action? Will a shot stop my knee from locking or feeling like it will lock?

    Re: MRI Results on Knee

I have about the same thing without the locking. The coritisone helped after it was injected. But was very painful a few hours later that night, I couldn't move my knee or walk at all. I was better the next morning though. I have had 3 gel injections now, have to wait 3 weeks to see if they work. If not, I'll be needing surgery. I hope it helps you
