    Knee issues

I'm 21 years old. I first started experiencing pain in my left knee (location of pain shifted from medial to lateral side with chronic pain under the patella) nearly 12 months ago, Pain slowly began to increase until I eventually strayed away from leg workouts (about 6 months ago). my ailment continues to cause stress and pain during my day-to-day activities: stairs, long walks, bending down ext. About 3 months ago(FEB 2014) I went to see a specialist (DR. PETRIE, NEWPORT BEACH, CA) to take a look at my knee; he didn't wast much time during the first visit, they took an x-ray, seeing nothing conclusive he immediately diagnosing me with CHONDROMALACIA and said I was having some petellar tracking issues also. I then was prescribed with ibuprofen 800mg to take twice daily for four weeks straight in order to help with inflammation along with 6 weeks of Physical Therapy twice a week. I followed through with both, noticing little to no improvements with pain. The next visit, he suggested i get an MRI, checking for structural damage. After receiving the MRI, he revealed there was NO structural damage, but possibly a slight bruise of the bone at the bottom of my femur. He also said pain could be caused by the fatty pad underneath the patella. He gave me a cortisone shot which has not done anything in which i can notice...

Now, here I am, I've been continuing to try and strengthen, stretch and massage my keen in a pain friendly way (i.e. rubber band exercises, dead lifts, ext.) and pain has not changed overall.

Im beginning to get very frustrated and I'm willing to work hard, doing whatever it takes to feel agile again.

Please give me your input and suggestions in order for me to succeed with my goal.

P.s. Ive also been taking supplements daily: turmeric, glucosamine, calcium, fish oil and a specific joint blend.

    Cool Re: Knee issues

I had similar problem as yours. I had pain in my left knee. It was on and off, but lasting a while.

And after I took fish oil, turmeric, (magnesium), it seems to go away. (I don't really which one did it..)

I guess all can fix the inflammation in the body.

However, You need to take it for a long time and for good dosage too.

    for me

fish oil - 6 capsules a day (2 each meals)
turmeric - 4 a day (lunch and dinner) - but I kind of stop taking it now
magnesium - twice a day (morning and night)

After 2 months or I took them, the pain was gone and I continue to take fish oil and magnesium... (along with some red yeast rice, coq-10 for my cholesterol)

By the way, I also showed to my doctor. She simply didn't do anything at all. saying I might have twisted or done too much exercise... Doctors in some way are just guessing. And none of my doctors told me to take supplement by the way.
