    500mm cornea and 7mm pupils

    Hi,

Due to my stats above, my doctor advice me to go for the Lasek procedure.

After reading most of the post in this thread, I am kind of concern as to the outcome/side effects.

What I would like to know is that, is there anyone with similiar cornea size (500mm or less) and large pupils (>7mm) have had successful treatment with Lasek? What is your opinion on that? Would love to hear from you.

    Rgds,
    Concerned patient

It oesn't mean you will have succes if somebody else had. I talked to other surgeon, he says size of pupils is not the only factor in getting really bad nightvision. I talked to people with pupils of 6,,. 6.5mm with -1 prescriptions, they ended up with bad nightvision. It can be decentered ablation, moving of the eye during ablation, microstriaes on flap. yeap no force in this universe can predict this outcome. It's a gamble, they are gambling with others eyes, we arecrazy for gambling with our eyes and our lives.

I had over 500 microns prior to surgery. They said my dilated pupil size was only 5.5 mm..yet I ended up with horrible starbursts and halos. Post surgery now almost 16 months. Djk, do yourself a favor. Run , don't look back. Embrace your contacts or glasses. Cause I have said it 100 times. When complications occur from this surgery there are no fixes regardless of what the surgeons tell you.
