    Eye strain/headaches after LASIK

I had lasik 3 months ago to correct around 4 diopters of myopia in both eyes. I am experiencing a lot of eye strain and headaches. I think it is partly due to my left eye being weaker than my right eye. My right eye is near plano. My left eye is about 0.37 diopters more nearsighted than my right eye. I have tried glasses to make my left eye closer to my right eye. The glasses help but do not eliminate the eye strain and headaches.

I would like to know if anyone else has a similar refractive imbalance due to lasik and whether it is causing eye strain, especially when reading or using the computer. I wonder how much imbalance most people can tolerate.

Another possibility is that I have some latent exophoria or convergence insufficiency that is causing the eye strain. I have read that going from glasses with strong minus lenses to contacts or lasik can create additional accommodation and convergence demands. This seems unlikely to be my problem because I wore contacts for many years without eye strain, but I stopped wearing them a couple years ago so perhaps those muscles have weakened since then. I have been doing pencil push-ups for a few weeks but don't notice any less strain so far.

I would like to know if anyone else has experienced long-term eye strain and headaches after lasik and if you were able to discover a cause or solution.

    Thank you.
