I was wondering whether or not it's common for the eyes to take longer to focus from up close to far away and vice versa after Lasik.

Everyone is different. For me, i noticed the focusing thing the most if I was sleeping and then awoke early in the morning or in the middle of the night. It was intermittent but during the first 6 months was the main time frame when I experienced it and then it subsided slowly by the 8-12 month time frame. Everyone's eyes are different. You might have a quicker recovery.
