Please help....High white cell count....I am terrified!!

I went for routine bloodwork in January this year, and the doctor said my
White Blood Cell count was elevated. I had recently been sick with a sinus infection, so she said to wait a few weeks and re-test.

I had bloodwork done again 2 weeks ago, and the doctor said that
"not only has my WBC count not come down....it has actually gone up."

I am terrified that I have Leukemia.

I have no other symptoms....and I feel fine.
I am 35 female and have no other health issues.

Note: I recently began working out at a gym, after leading a rather
sedentary lifestyle. I have been working out very rigorously, and someone
told me that there may be a connection. (?)

Is there anything else that could be causing the high white cell count?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

I am seeing a hematologist this week, so I don't know just yet.
My WBC (if I am reading this right) is somewhere in the 9300 range.

My primary care physician said that they went up since 2 months ago.

That is within normal range. Most labs onsider
    3.8 (3800) to 10.8 (10800) normal .

Or were they 93000. It does get confusing.

Hope your visit goes well. Keep us posted.

    Take care

I wouldn't panic. Anywhere between 4000 and 11000 is normal. When I was diagnosed my WBC was 165,000. Things like mono can elevate your WBC as well. Good Luck

I am also going through the same thing. I had songrams done and bloodwork which came out fine. My white blood cell count went down to 10 3 months ago and now they are back up to 14.1. Im scared to death. Do you think it could be cancer? They want to send me for a bone marrow test where they put a needle in your hip and take out marrow. I am so sick with worry.
