Acne and Liver

Okay i dont know if this will be considered a liver disorder. But I am wondering if my acne is due to liver probs? Im 21, and recently changed my eating habbits drastically over the last 6 months. Ive lost 50lbs (sw 230 cw 180) and dont drink soda, eat candy, fast food, etc. I eat healthy and exercise regularly. Im wondering if all the eating junk for 20 yrs made my acne appear. I didnt have any acne till the age of 19, then it just popped out of nowhere. Do you think if I did a liver cleanse (like from GNC) that would affect my acne? How do i know if my liver is the cause also? And cleansing it anyways would still be recommended?

I am NOT an expert, but I would be inclined to say your acne is unlikely to be anything to do with your liver. i've never heard of there being a connection, anyway.

Actually, if one has acne and has serious liver problems (which I don't think is your case) it can actually clear up! In serious liver disease when the liver cells are actually beginning to fail, there are problems forming testosterone, and there is a lot of estrogen formed in the body. For men and women alike, this can help clear up acne, as testosterone is often a culprit in causing acne. As you can probably guess, in men, this can have other feminizing effects.
