Re: liver adenoma or focal nodule hyperplasia

Thank you so much for the prayers. Today is the first really stressful day I have had in all of this. I am just nervous about everything, but I know this is the best thing. Two doctors have looked at my scans and said the same thing. 9 cm.- adenoma, they think that is what it is, it has to come out. Today is my day to cry at work, although, I am the only one in the office today, so I think that is why. Nessie, you are not alone.
My daughter, Kayla, will fill everyone in on Friday as to what happened so far.
Prayers are being sent out to you all too!

kt and nessie,

I'll be thinking about you. Stay strong, and when you are blue, try to think about the things for which you are grateful. Keep us posted on your progress. We are all thinking of you.

Re: liver adenoma or focal nodule hyperplasia

Hi! knew to site. Here is my story. In Nov. 2005 went to ER with severe flu symptoms. After complaining of pain in upper abdomain ultra sound done to look for gall stones, 3 tumors were found in liver. I was told I most likely had cancer which spread to the liver and was sent to Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN for evaluation immediately. After 3 days of CT scan, Mri, was diagnoised as most likely hepatic adenoma's 7 cm, 3.5cm. and 5.5cm unable to rule out vascular metastases and recommended resection in a month. My insurance company required me to have second opinion, so I went to liver specialist at the Virginia Piper institue in Minneapolis. I then had a nuclear medicine scan which then the doctor diagnosed focal nodule hyperplasia and off the birth control should shrink and yearly ct scan would be acceptable treatment no surgery. I have continued to have dull aching pain and at times sharp pain (doctor says I should have no symptoms). Went for regular scan two weeks ago and the tumors have not changed and I know have a adrenal lesion (does anyone know what this is??) My family doctor ordered scan with yearly check up and sent to liver specialist--He wants to see me in 3 months for another scan at his office. Poor communication between doctors and know one is relaying info. to me. I requested all my scans on disc and the written reports. Concerened about new lesion on adrenal. I have not read anyone with this also. Nervous about why after 2 years i need to go in 3 months versus yearly but somewhat relieved to see liver specialist have not seen him in 2 years. Appreciate any feed back. Thanks
