Asthma/copd overlap

I was in the hospital with asthma attack and recently I have Been told I have some permanent damage in my lungs. I had no infection going on but the flare up was quite bad.
I had over 80 puffs of ventolin in just under 12 hours, steroids by iv after having 50 mg Of prednisone around eight hours before I came to the hospital. I also was given atrovent every four hours along with alvesco. My oxygen level was above 90 which is low for me and
Went down to 88 on exertion while I was in the hospital.
I am still finding I need ventolin every four hours and more if I exert myself
Too much. Stairs are an issue too.

Can anyone relate?

Re: Asthma/copd overlap

I am still having issues with my lungs.
I am back on prednisone and then tapered for two weeks.

Has anyone else suffered from permanent damage in the lungs from
Chronic persistent asthma?
