New to Board with a Question on Chest Pain

Hello All! I just discovered this board this morning after having a night of chest pain. I haven't had a chance to peruse this board much so forgive me if this has been covered already. Here is my situation:

For the last year or so, I get this chest pain, which I can describe as severe tightness with pain. It is only on my left side, under my left breast/rib cage near the bottom. I only get this pain in the middle of the night and only while I'm laying on my right side. Once I change positions, it goes away. Does this sound familar to anyone?

Just yesterday I went in for a follow-up X-ray, but not for this problem (my chest pains started occurring way before this). Last December I came down with a cough that didn't go away for over a month. I finally went to the doctor in January, and they sent me in for the initial x-ray. The x-ray showed a slight enlarged lymphnode and a bit of scarring on my "left" lung. They then sent me in for an MRI and then went to a pulmonologist. They didn't have much of a concern with what they saw on the initial x-ray and MRI. They said the enlarged lynphnode was probably because I was getting over the cough. They just wanted me to do a follow-up x-ray after a month (which was yesterday). Like a "DUMBY", when they asked whether I get any chest pain, I said "no". This pain that I do get at night only occurs sporadically. I just didn't think about it at the time, because it had been a while since I had it. Well, sure enough, in the last couple of nights, it has returned. I am planning on calling the dr. on Monday and let him know about this pain.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? (Sorry for the rather lengthy posting...I'm just really baffled by this and I'm hoping it isn't anything serious; other than this, I'm a very healthy person -- and a nonsmoker!)
