weird noise/movement in lungs, shortness of breath

hi. i'm a 41 yr old male, dont smoke, never had asthma, not overweight.
about a month ago i got a cold (from eating a lot of ice cream i guess. it's the only thing i can think of) and i got this cough where i felt like something wanted to come up but rarely did, and when it did it was yellow. after about a week of that i started to feel/hear some movement in the bottom of my chest at the end of my inhales and some shortness of breath. i also was getting mild, short fevers and cold sweats a couple of nights. i went to the DR, he prescribed me Z-pack (3 days) and told me to get a chest xray if it doesnt go away after about 6 days (he was going on vacation the following week). the fevers and cold sweats went away but the cough and the lung 'movement' remained. also, the phelgm that comes up has changed it's color to white. i went for the x-rays and they came back negative - "everything's normal". now it's a week later and i still cough once in a while and i still have some lung 'movement' although it seems to have lessened.
is it phelgm in the lungs? is it something serious? will it eventually go away on it's own? do i need more medication? should i go see a lung specialist?
can anyone help me with some insight??
