Daytime oxygen - How to cope?

I recently was found to be hypoxic, in the mid 80's, just walking around. I get very short of breath with exertion. I was prescribed oxygen to use during day, and I absolutely hate it. I find the effort involved in the using the oxygen counteracts any benefit from it. I am constantly tripping over the cord, catching it on furniture, and going out with a tank is awful. So heavy it makes me short of breath from just carrying it around. Any helpful advice from seasoned oxygen users to deal with the long tangled cords, heavy tanks, and general hassle of it all? Thanks!
