    Re: Lab Results for Lupus

Khya, I'm so sorry to be this slow (out of town, then computer chaos when I was "migrated" to a different e-mail server). By now, you've probably already seen the rheum? I'm guessing you were asking about your labs because you're worried about progressing from a dx of DLE to SLE? From what I've read, only a VERY small percent of people initially dx'ed with DLE progress to SLE. But being monitored by a rheumatologist is the safest route to go, so I'm glad that's happening for you.

The labs you sent didn't resonate with me because there were no reference ranges. But I did notice that in March, antibody tests were run (ANA, anti-ds-DNA, RNP, and Smith), but that these weren't repeated in June. Not sure what that omission means... Possibly that March results were negative & thus those tests weren't repeated in June? But rather than assume anything about what wasn't rerun & why---I'd just ask point-blank!

If you've seen the rheum by now, what did you learn? I hope only good things and that nothing has shifted for the worse. Please drop us an update. Until then, thinking of you and sending warm wishes, Vee
