Finally getting a diagnosis

Hi everyone,
I'm new, 42 years old from Australia.
The last few months have been a roller coaster. Resulting in a diagnosis of SLE and lymphocytic vasculitis.
ANA speckled 1:320 first test 1:80 speckled second test
Positive biopsy for facial rash as lymphocytic vasculitis
Anti dsDNA positive
C3 high reading
C4 low
Urinalysis trace blood and low specific gravity
Anca negative
Anti phospholipids negative
Vitiman d deficiency
Waiting on other blood results
Sinus tachycardia
Sinus baricardia
Blood pressure was 198/93
Pulse was over 200
Excellent echocardiogram
Constant pain in left shoulder which is arthritic
Feet and hand pain

All of this has added up to feeling horrendous. I've been off work for 3.5 weeks now and I struggle just to get out of bed. Please tell me this goes away? I know it's a life long thing and treatment is needed. I got back to the specialist 13 December. My mum has sale my aunt has ms and my uncle has pulmonary fibrosis so I have a massive family history of autoimmune diseases. Over the years I've had seven pregnancies and only 2 births, 5 unexplained miscarriages.

I just want it to go away, I want to feel safe again, to sleep properly and not constantly be so worried.

Kooze, since you are just getting diagnosed and have not started any treatment, it's normal to feel frightened and just want to escape the reality of having a chronic illness. Unfortunately it will not just go away, but you can feel better in time with appropriate treatment. The meds used to treat SLE take some time to work, and a combination may be needed depending on how you respond. It may take a few months to get treatment to control your symptoms. You probably will need high blood pressure treatment and medication to control your heart rate. You may need a team of specialists to address specific problems. The more you learn the more you can help yourself and be proactive in your health care. There are people here who can help you understand and cope. Glad you found this board for support.
