How to deal with lupus

Hi, everyone
Iíve been diagnosed with lupus for 2 months. My doctor prescribed Prednisone for 4 months and Plaquenil for 3 months. These help relieve my joint pain and fatigue a little. But after 2 months of taking them, I have hair loss and reaction with my eyes. Should I keep taking them?

Should meet your doctor again. I also used to have similar symptoms to you since taking them. I met my doctor and she recommended me should take them because I had mild side effects. But if you develops severe hair loss and eyes reactions, should meet your doctor. Maybe your doctor gives you another treatment. For me, after 3 months with Prednisone, the doctor recommend supplement to me, not taking medicines.

Re: How to deal with lupus

Hi, shevon124
Thanks for your advice. I met my doctor already and she asked me to keep taking them as I just developed mild side effects. She required me to eat more broccoli, flaxseed, sardines, salmon, skim milk and fruits. But I can't eat fish like salmon or tuna. I wonder whether I should ask my doctor about supplement like you to boost my health.

I think you should ask your doctor about supplements. I just share my experience. As supplements work for me, I don't know whether it works for you. To make sure, need to ask your doctor

Re: How to deal with lupus

I met my doctor and asked about supplements. She encouraged me to eat more vegetables and fruits to supply enough nutrients. Also, she gave vitamin b12 and lupufree supplements. As they may help to boost my health during taking steroids, she gives them to me. How is your disease relieved?

Re: How to deal with lupus

yep, my lupus is relieved but sometimes fatigue occurs. Whenever my work is under pressure, I'm extremely exhausted. So, I'm trying to cut my work and take more time to rest. I hope flare ups don't recur
