    New- Skewed lab results?

Hi there, I am new to this site and new to the SLE diagnosis.
I have been feeling miserable for years, lots of aches and pains and stiffness everywhere(hips, upper arms, hands, chest, back of neck) and without specific incident. Other "random" symptoms where popping up here and there..hair loss, esophageal spasms, visual auras, heart palpitations(pauses and tachycardia). My family Dr ordered bloodwork over the years but said everything was "normal". Fast forward to last summer, my heart palpitations were so bad I ended up in the E.R., they felt I was in no imminent danger but sent me to see an internal medicine doctor. He ran a barrage of tests and it came back that I had iron deficiency anemia, my ferritin was at a 4 but also my ANA was positive. At that time the anti-dsDNA results were still pending but he was quite confident I would be diagnosed with lupus. We went back through my history of lab work and found my family doctor did test for my ANAs and anti-dsDNA in 2009 which both came back positive and again in 2012 which not only were positive but the anti-dsDNA results were flagged as high positive. I was totally unaware of these results back then and was told everything was normal. Now my current results are back and ANA is positive but anti-dsDNA are coming back negative. They are now calling it "borderline lupus?". Im told once you have a positive anti-dsDNA it will always be positive. My question is would the high doses of prednisone that I started taking as well as prednisone injections into my hips and shoulders skew the anti-dsDNA lab results? I am reading mixed answers on this. I am in so much pain on a daily basis. They are going to retest again in a couple of months after I have eight weeks of IV iron infusions for my anemia. Apparently I have been anemic for 9 years as well, which my family doctor also failed to mention :/

Thanks and any insight would be helpful
