    Nasal sores

    Dear but4grace,

Did your doctors have you try, for nasal sores, just Vaseline? Or Kenalog in Orabase? But maybe that's the sort of thing your specialist already had you try?

Anyway, these are two things Dr. Wallace llists in his fine hardcover for oral ulcerations...

I've never had nasal sores but have had oral ulcerations. Small as they may seem on the face of it (really bad pun, and I didn't even try! ), nasal sores sound very annoying. Good luck! from Vee

Thanks for responding ......I'll look ....I'm not sure the names of the cremes that they prescribed me. I do know that nothing so far is working. I've had this nasal sore so long that I've become attached and am about ready to give it a name! LOL

    Re: Nasal sores

    Hi guys,
I have nasal ulcers too and boy do they get bad sometimes, (feel for you). Just a quick note though. Vaseline is a petrolium product which has been linked as an environmental flare trigger for lupus patients. I unfortunately have had the pleasure of being one of those patients because my doc recomended it for my ulcers. So use, (or don't use) wisely.
    Take care,

    Re: Nasal sores

Thanks for your advice........I haven't officially been diagnosed with Lupus but have many of the symptoms it seems. I'm sorry you have these horrible nasal sores but am glad that I'm not crazy. Have you ever had one that would just not clear up? I've had this one apprx. 6 months! And it hasn't gotten any better. Right now the Imuran I'm on is keeping my blood counts up so my symptoms are nasal sores, extreme fatigue, hair loss, swelling and painful joints (especially in my hands and knees), low grade fevers and itching. The mornings are the worst. Oh and now I have these horizontal ridges that have come up on my nails.....crazy huh? At this point I'm so tired of doctors especially since they seem to know little more than I do about what's going on with me. And it seems like as long as they have got my blood count stable they don't care either. I didn't mean to just rattle on.....just get discouraged when I never seem to feel better. Thanks for listening and for the info on Vasoline. but4grace
