    Question Recent blood specialist visit

Hi all. I went to my appointment on the 25th to see my blood specialist and he told me that the reason I was sent to him was because of both my lymph nodes being enlarged and also because of a positive ANA result. He did some more blood tests, and got the results for them really promptly. All of them came back fine, and the ANA was still the same. He said primarily, lymph node enlargement could represent both leukemia or lymphoma. He ruled out leukemia on the spot because my blood count was perfect, except the ANA being positive. In previous years, its always been negative as he looked through my previous notes with my Rheumie. He told me that I shouldn't worry about lymphoma at this stage and he did say that a positive ANA can cause lymph node enlargement, because it is an auto-immune problem. He didn't seem to worried about the nodes. He said they were pretty small, and could be just reactive, but I don't no why. I've got to see him again in August and he's going to take it from there. Plus, he lost my previous ANA result so I have made a copy to show him on my next visit. It was the speckled pattern one I had done.

Can lupus often be mistaken for lymphoma or leukemia?

I explained all my symptoms to him, but he was more concerned with the lymph node enlargement. I will be seeing the top consultant next time, because he was only standing in whilst the top consultant was away. I am scared now.

Can Lupus affect the lymphocyte count. I can't remember the normal values but the first test I had by the GP was 1.9 (lymphocyte count) and the one I had on the 25th was 1.7. Could this be significant? He didn't mention anything about that test.

Does anyone have any ideas? Please help me.

Can anyone here help me? Or give any suggestions? It will be most appreciated.
