update anti ro VJ

Hi Vee,
It has been a while since my last post. I do check in but haven't had much to say. Since the weather has changed I have started to feel better and except for the occasional flare I felt that there must be nothing wrong with me. I went to the rhumie yesterday and he said I was indeed sick. He said let's call it a lupus like disease (better for insurance etc) but he was very worried about have the + anti ro. I had toxemia with all 4 pregnancies and with the last one my son had an echogenic cariac foci. He was surprised that they never tested me for this. Also he started to tell me no more children but after the last I had my tubes tied because with each pregnancy I would get sicker and sick and my last two were pill babies! Over the summer they thought my son may have lyme. He tested positive on his ANa and his liver function was elevated. He is small almost 2 1/2 and only 24lbs. His stool is very loose. He feels it would be a good idea to follow up with a ped. rhumie and have my results posted in all 4 kids medical files. He offered to start my on planquilen but I said I would rather wait until I felt worse. I seem to do better with this overcast weather and am functionally almost normally at this point.
I wanted to fill you in on my latest news. You are such a wonderful source of knowledge and comfort thank you for that.
Does anyone else test positive with the anti ro and have children with problems? not much info out there that I can find!
Thank you,

Re: update anti ro VJ

Dear Robin, I never had children (wrong med, for wrong disease, for most of my married years---Librax for GI problems---can't take during pregnancy).

I hope you do take your son to a pediatric rheumie, Robin. Hopefully, he'll get the help he needs to get turned around quickly. Having the right drs. evaluate him now could mean so much for him, and your other 3, too. My heart goes out, Robin. But, for sure, this seems like a lead that you must follow through on, wherever it leads.

I don't know if my own mother was ever tested for lupus. She did have "sticky blood", which I now would interpret as AntiphospholipidSyndrome & she was on Coumadin for many years. And I had recurrent serious illnesses when I was very young (pneumonia, encephalitis, etc.) but never was taken to a rheumie. My one sibling, my older sister, was pretty healthy until her 50's (Dx'ed then with asthma).

I'm sorry for all you've battled so far, Robin, but I'm very glad you have this strong lead for your son. Let us know how you all are faring, when you can, OK? All my very best, to you & your family! Vee (P.S. Glad you feel pretty solid yourself right now. I feel well in fall & winter, too---and love feeling like "myself" for months at a time. But if you need the Plaquenil later, don't hesitate, OK? I've got very lousy bones, not improved by years of untreated chronic inflammation...)
