tcells/ white blood cells
Is anyone an immune specialist that can tell me how closely correlated your tcell and white blood cell count is? About 2 years ago I went through a bad breakup and was under extreme emotional and psychological stess, was unable to eat bc of it, lost 15 lbs quickly, stopped menstruating for almost 4 mos. I happened to be traveling at the time and got sick. I was in the Eukraine where medical stuff is free and got a detailed blood test done. There were many detailed CDs and tcell counts. It showed that I had tcell deficiency. The lady said it could be from AIDS or heptatitis, but I have since been tested negative for those, and have always donated blood regularly without being told my blood has one of those viruses (nor is my lifestyle risky AT ALL). There was also a lot of translation misunderstanding in what the Ukrainian dr. said. Two years later I am happy, back to normal wieght and everything, and have had 2 general blood count tests done. Both showed normal red and white cell counts. My general university clinic doctor is not concerned with my possibly fluke or innacurate Ukraine results b/c I have normal overall blood counts. She said detailed tcell counts is very expensive in the US (almost 1,000 for all the same ones I had in Europe). But I am worried about Lupus or another immune disease. Should I get the expensive tests redone? Can anyone tell me if I could still have deficient tcells but a normal overall red and white blood cell count? Does having low tcells mean I would also have low white blood cells?
