    Lyme disease question

I noticed that a member of my family has a bullseye rash. I wondered, how quickly is the rash going to disappear. I want to be sure he gets to the doctor in time for the doc to see the rash.
What is the next step in diagnosis? A blood test?

    Thanks for your time.

    Re: Lyme disease question

I noticed that my husband has a bullseye rash last night. Of course, he went to work this morning instead of going to the doctor. How long will the rash last (I want the doc to see it)? Can he be diagnosed already? I think he's been bitten within this week,

    Re: Lyme disease question

From reading online, I see that the rash will "expand". How many days will it last?

    Re: Lyme disease question

The previous poster was correct, definitely take a picture of it! A bull's eye rash is a definitive diagnosis. He needs to begin treatment for lyme ASAP. The longer you wait the more difficult it will be to treat. Make sure you see a lyme disease specialist, an LLMD. Other docs and specialists do not understand lyme or how to treat. You will be wasting time going down that road.

Take a look at the stickies at the top of this board for further information about all this. Very important that you know what you are dealing with and what steps to take.

Hope your husband finds the help he needs soon.

    Tess
