    Question Lyme or Not?

    Hi,

I just had a Lyme test because of years of feeling ill on and off with flu like symptoms, aching body, fatigue etc. Long story short, I had a rash many years ago, flu symptoms and could not walk without pain. This happened in summer at our country house. Went to hospital and Doctor diagnosed me with Rheumatoid arthritis. 3 months later I started to feel better and wanted to get retested because I didn't believe I had Rheumatoid arthritis - this time it came back negative. Was referred to Rheumatologist in City, he said I had fibromyalgia after 10 mins and I never went back. I have suffered on and off for years of not feeling well. 10 years later I was diagnosed with breast cancer.

    My IGG/IGM Negative

    IGM
    23-25 IND
    31 IND
    41+

Should I be looking somewhere else?

    Thanks for your help.

    Re: Lyme or Not?

You cannot go by tests when it comes to lyme disease because of so many False negatives. Lyme is diagnosed first by clinical symptoms. A lyme disease specialist (LLMD - lyme literate medical doctor) can help you sort this out. Try to find one in your area. Most do not take insurance. I wouldn't bother with any other type doctor unless you choose to go alternative because this will just delay your healing. Take a look at the stickies at the top of this board as well.

I hope you can find the help you need.
