Looking for LLMD on Long Island, NY

    Hi All,
I am in desperate need to find a doctor in the Long Island area who diagnoses/treats Chronic Lyme Disease for my daughter and possibly for myself.

My daughter: Bulls eye rash at age 11. Three to four weeks on antibiotics. We were told that was that. Over the next few years, she complained about aches and pains in various parts of her body, fatigue, brain fog, difficulty concentrating, and mild digestive issues. She also gained weight for no apparent reason as her diet continued to be very healthy. None of it seemed too serious to me until her pain got severe (it was following a great deal of physical activity). Long story short, Lyme test was negative, and she was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. At the time, I had never heard of Chronic Lyme and believed the doctors when they said it couldn't be Lyme. Today at 20, she feels a bit better than she used to following a Paleo diet and doing some light yoga and light cardio and trying to get adequate sleep. But the more I read about Lyme and consider her symptoms, the more I become convinced that it is Lyme and not Fibro!

Me: I had a tick embedded in my head for who knows how long back in the early 90s. My husband got it out. Until very recently, I thought a deer tick was a small black speck, and this one was reddish brown and about 5mm or so. I never gave it another thought. OK, VERY long story short, since then I have had MANY of the symptoms I have seen attributed to Chronic Lyme. Some come and go, but what I have had for 20+ years: fatigue, brain fog, a horrible but difficult to describe feeling in my head (it makes me want to smash my skull on cement), muscle weakness, tinnitus, carpal tunnel-like symptoms, and an all-around feeling of being unwell. Those are just the constant symptoms and the ones that I have been unable to ignore all these years. Countless doctors and specialists over the years and no diagnosis--not even CFS or Fibromyalgia. Of course, my Lyme test--many years after my tick bite--was negative. At this point, I can't even remember whether I told the doctors about the tick bite because I only just realized that it was actually a deer tick.

If anyone can recommend a doctor, I would greatly appreciate it! I have wasted some of the best years of my life chasing a diagnosis and cure.
