    Does the rash shrink?

I have a rash on my leg that I was initially blaming on a wasp or bee. I never actually saw what bit/stung me.

Over the next few days it began to expand and looked like the photos I see of tick bites - it became large with rings.

However, it has now began to shrink again. In the descriptions I read they all say "expanding" but don't say if it stays like that or if it will begin to lessen.

I am trying to decide whether to see a doctor or not. Since I am in Colorado it seems unlikely that it would be lyme disease, but the look of the rash and the descriptions I see online are a little worrying.

    Thanks

    Re: Does the rash shrink?

Lyme is everywhere, including Colorado! This is a huge misconception, that lyme only exists on the East coast. If you have any inkling at all that you might have been tick bit you need to get to a lyme specialist to check it out, an LLMD - lyme literate medical doctor - ASAP. Other docs do not understand the disease or how to diagnose or treat.

As far as your rash is concerned, there is no way to say that a tick rash will always look the same way after a few days on every individual. If it was a bullseye rash that is pretty indicative of a tick bite.

Lyme Disease is a serious infection that becomes very difficult to treat the longer one waits. I hope that you can see someone soon to have it assessed. Blood work should be sent to Igenex Lab in Palo Alto CA.

    All the best,

    Tess

Thanks for the response. I ended up booking a doctor's appointment shortly after my initial comment, although not with a LLMD.

I'm looking into nearby LLMDs now.
