    Results Positive - next negative

I tested positive for Lyme by LabCorp 11/11/19.
    IgG 18, 23, 30, 41, 45 Positive
    IgM 41 Psitive
Started Doxycycline 100 mg 2/days on the same day.

My PCP retested 11/14/19 by Imugen and results NEGATIVE.

Q: Is Imugen more or less accurate than LabCorp?
Q: What could explain the discrepancy?

    Hey,

Testing for lyme 3 days after the initial test, even to select a better lab, can result in a false reading because you've already started Doxy. Imugen is now considered a competent lyme testing lab, along with Igenex Lab in Palo Alto CA. But . . . you also need to be seeing a competent practitioner! This is the problem with seeing any doctor (other than an LLMD) for Lyme Disease. I would be concerned that this is not someone who understands or can adequately treat LD.

Your own research will help you to determine what is needed so you can be your own advocate. Very necessary when dealing with Lyme. You could also contact ILADS for a provider list of LD docs in your area who are on their honor role list. There may also be Lyme support groups where you live. Other lymies are often the best resource.

Wish you the best with all this,

    Tess
