Re: Sore scalp anyone......

Hi Sherrie:

I think we had a thread about this on the migraine board. That is called cutaneous allodynia. I do have an area in the back of my head that feels like it is bruised, behind my right ear. This was one of the first symptoms that I had back in May around the same time that I started to feel like my vision was off.

Did you get anymore answers from anyone? I hope you are feeling better.

Sherrie: The only scalp related symptom I had is hair loss.

Yours sounds painful. I hope you find relief soon!

Hi Sherrie,

Yes, I did have this. I would cringe when I'd get my hair cut, because the combing felt like my scalp was being raked, and then when the person would blow dry - well the pulling and brushing while blow drying. Yikes. I acted like this person was torturing me, and well, they probably thought I was nuts! I no longer have this problem though. I did lose a lot of hair also, it seemed over a period of years. This seems to have leveled off.

Re: Sore scalp anyone......

I have similar problems. It is not directly associated with something actually touching the scalp with my fingers, brush or comb. It merely can be uncomfortable to have the wind blow my hair as the movement of my hair hurts. Often, this type of pain results in a painful burning/tingling on my scalp.
