Hi Traya,
Geminigirl is right regarding if your doctor is open-minded or not. The majority of doctors have no knowledge about Lyme Disease (I went from doctor to doctor for 5 years before I was diagnosed) and after 10 years I am about 90% cured now.
You can order the test kit from IgeneX Labs yourself (we are not allowed to post websites here), but you will need a doctor's signature for these tests. Once again, it is very important to be tested for the coinfections than I talked about in a different post to you.
Another important factor is that Lyme is really a clinical diagnosis and a "reputable" LLMD (Lyme Literate Medical Doctor) uses these tests as an aid, not a diagnosis, though personally, I was glad to see that my tests came back positive. Depending if your body is still making antibodies does affect the test results. I had my IgeneX tests done 5 years after I was bit, so my body was creating antibodies from the lyme bacterias.
It is important to see a LLMD and if you tell us where you live, we can give you names of doctors that are close to you.
If you have any more questions, please ask. Lyme is curable when treated!
