Smile We Shall Overcome and I have a toilet!!!

I bought a fixxer-upper a few years ago. Half of my rooms are unusable - as they are gutted. I left the toilet in the downstairs bathroom as the studs and subflooring didn't bother me. That way I didn't have to climb the stairs when I needed to go.

One day last year my brother came over and ripped it out. He thought he was helping although I begged him not to.

Ever since I've to go upstairs to vomit or whatever. I don't like it but I'm too sick to keep up with my projects.

My dad heard about the pain I was in after running around the hospital, so he paid for a new toilet and my sister installed it today!!

She also made me a copy of Springsteen's new CD, "We Shall Overcome"

Hooray!! I can vomit and pee and whatever without having to climb those stupid stairs!

I'm so happy!

What a relief

Jeanne is standing over my shoulder grinning with understanding. What a gift from your dad.

There is your miracle for the day

LOL Mickie! Oh the little things we get excited about. I AM glad you don't have to climb the stairs anymore though. My son sees a counselor who is on the second floor of an old historic house....needless to say, no elevator. The first day I went up the stairs it was all I could do to make it. I literally was holding onto the rail and pulling my self up like that. My muscles were so weak I didn't think I was going to make it. I did but I guess I am trying to tell you I really understand how hard stairs can be on your body.

Take care Mickie!!

YEAH Mickie

That was a nice thing your family did for you.

I know what you mean about stairs. If we didn't have a half bath downstairs I don't know how I'd make it to the bathroom in time. I keep an extra toothbrush, toothpaste and other essentials downstairs to minimize my trips upstairs.

Someday we will look back on these things and laugh. Remember when I was soooo happy to have that new toilet. Forget the jewelry, nice clothes, flowers, just give me my toilet.................
