    Red face Mepron

No matter what I have read, nothing prepared me for the 1st does of Mepron this morning. HOLY COW. I have never taken something so vile in my life! I did take it with a peanut buttered english muffin and chocolate milk (great, all I need is a few more pounds added on).

Whomever said, "sometimes the cure is worse than the illness", must have written that after their first dose of Mepron!!

Hi FlaGal, I hear you! The color and consistency of Mepron is like yellow construction paint!

If it does the job though it is worth it

I agree with you Ticker...after the misery of taking it, I sure do hope it does the job. In this day and age, you think they could have made this med a little bit easier to "swallow".

Ice cream cake sounds good! Even though I'm on Nutrisystem I just stole a piece of good Swiss chocolate I bought for my husband to make it bearable.

You might ask your doc about a newer drug called "Alinia"; it's been around since 2002, and my LLMD is using it as an alternative anti-parasitic. I'm not on it though, and it is expensive ($800/month), but it's in a pill form.

Good luck; you're going to need it I fear.

    Re: Mepron

Thanks for the tip Bill, I will bring it up to him when I see him on the 18th of this month. Mepron is not any cheaper, actually it is $895- for a 3wk round. Thank goodness my insurance covers all but $ 25- of it! Hoping it will not hit me so hard, I am not sure how much strength this body has left in it!

    Re: Mepron

FLAgal, despite how disgusting the Mepron looks and tastes, I have been on it for over a week and really have not had any bad problems. I also had what I think were Herxes for the first time last night, but they weren't too bad either. I seem to have a relatively mild case of Babesiosis, but hopefully your experience will be similar to mine.
