Question Mites, Mold, Misery

My wife and I have had our health compromised by bird mites, level 5 mold growth found in wall cavity with highest counts spores/m3 - Ascospores(1536),Aspergillus/Pencillium(23424),Basidiospores(1152),St achybotrys(1920), then, we tested our water to find the fungi Aspergillus present(20 CFU/g) and 5 different bacteri related to soil and water, but only one that can affect a healthy human is Chromobacterium violaceum.
The only bites we've encountered are bird mites. We don't expect this is the cause of the readings of my wife's Lyme IgM Western Blot test. I'm waiting on my Aflatoxin tests regarding the Aspergillus exposure by both air & water. Needless to say, all of this testing is expensive. To add to my misery I have completed a neuropsychological testing that has labled me as disabled. I'm not able to work and at the age of 48 I'm filing for SSD.
I'd appreciate a perspective on my wife's tests below and hope we can get a final diagnose from our doctor to pursue legal actions. One last thing... Any consideration be made towards Valley Fever?
Thank you.

Re: Mites, Mold, Misery

Sorry for what you are going through. It sure is like Pandora's box figuring out everything.

Your wife's test is positive. There use to be a thread at the top of the board somewhere telling what all the bands me. You could also find the answers by doing a search band by band. From your computer.

She has lyme definatley.

It would be wise to get her to a Lyme Literate Medical Doctor.
You can post a new thread requesting one in your area. Most people have to travel. You will need to turn on your private messaging to get a doctor's name being we are not suppose to post names on the boards.

Hope you both get to feeling better soon

Jodie

Exclamation Re: Mites, Mold, Misery

Thanks. We continue to seek a diagnose from our doctor. We are not finding any support that a bird or rodent mite can be the vector for Borrelia burgdorferi. It seems possible that either mite, bird or rodent could be carriers. You see a close relationship between tick and mite, and birds & mice themselves can be carriers of B. burgdorferi. So, I just can't believe their isn't documentation stating that these mites share with the tick as vectors.

When you add all the molds in the home and finding arthopods, fungus gnats and phorid flies to this mixture, plus co-existing bacteria and fungi in the water, that bacteria of the genus Borrelia could be secondary to a more invasive disease, such as Aspergillosis. My Aflatoxin tests will be back next week to see.

This is sort like which came first the egg or the chick? We believe we had the molds and the aspergillus in the water at the time we moved in. We look at the mites and the birds that nested were blessings to get us out of the home, or we would still be breathiing, drinking and bathing all the toxins today.

Re: Mites, Mold, Misery

I just read that mites are in the spider family just as ticks are. They both imbedded their heads into their victims.

I have read that any type of bitting insect can carry Lyme.

So one would think that a mite can.

< edited > We were infested with the avian mite and I do believe the B. burgdorferi came from these mites. However, it is hard to convence the medical community. We have a friend that use to be with CDC that told us to tell our doctor to rule out Valley Fever.

Re: Mites, Mold, Misery

I just wanted to second Jodie's post about biting insects,as well as ticks, being able to infect with Lyme. I believe that includes biting flys as well.

As for "convincing the medical community", I think that would be an arduous and fruitless endeavor. The medical community, other than LLMDs, simply do not understand Lyme Disease. I long ago gave up trying to have a conversation with my docs about it; afterall, I'm just the patient. What could I possibly know!
