Question about Lyme Diet

I'm new to the board. I've finally been diagnosed with Lyme disease with at least 2 co-infections (Babesia and Bartonella) and am seeing a LLMD. I have a lot of confidence in her and want to follow all of her directions to the letter, but didn't want to email/call her for every little question, so here goes...

I'm on a yeast/sugar free diet due to aggressive antibiotic therapy and one of the many other restrictions was to avoid canola oil. The explanation from her paperwork was that canola oil usually falls into the GMO category. I really miss butter on my toast (Ezekial bread is allowed) and found a vegan buttery spread called Earth Balance that has canola oil, but lists it as non-GMO. Is this okay then? Would love to hear if others have used this, or if you've been told to not use it.
