    Lyme again?

I was diagnosed with Lyme in July. It was caught very quickly, I think. I did the standard round of doxycycline and everything seemed fine. A week ago i have been experiencing a lot of dizziness that comes very unexpectedly (for example when I am sitting it is as if a wave comes over my head and i feel like i will pass out, but never do.). Also, i have had tingling in my face and top of my head. There is also a tightness in my chest and it can be hard to catch my breath. I also have had blocked up ears and a stuffy nose. I tried allergy medicine but it isn't helping. And I am really thirsty.

Can this be a "second round" of Lyme? Maybe it wasn't wiped out the first time? Any suggestions?

    Thanks so much?

    Re: Lyme again?

    Hi,

How long were you treated? Were you also tested for co-infections? Were you seeing an LLMD (Lyme specialist)? It sounds like you were not treated long enough. You need to continue with treatment for months after symptoms resolve, or years, depending on the severity of the infection. If you were not seeing an LLMD that could also be a problem in terms of getting the right kind of care. Other specialists do not understand how to treat lyme disease.

You could take a look at the stickies at the top of this board for more information about all of this, but it sounds to me like you are still infected, possibly with co-infections as well. Read the stickies and then let us know if you have further questions. I hope you can find the help you need.

    Tess
