    Itching with lymphoma

    Hi

The kind of itch that is associated with lymphoma-how does it feel?

Is it there all the time or only sometimes? And what kind of itch? Like a ticklish need-to-scratch itch, or a prickling, tingling itch?

I have swollen nodes, and I've been gettin generalized, tingling prickly itch when I get hot (after excersize, out of shower etc).

    Is this a sign?

Have you seen a doctor for the swollen nodes? My father has non-hodgkins lymphoma and the only symptoms he had was swelling along his jaw...looked like an infected tooth. While reading up on NHL, itching was listed as a symptom. The doctors always ask Dad if he is experiencing any itching, but so far he has not. He has been in remission for the past 2 years. From what I understand from the doctors, itching could be one sign that it has started up again. I hope your itching is something else, but I'd get to the doctor just to make sure and to ease your mind. Good luck to you!

    Re: Itching with lymphoma

I had severe itching. I could have sat and itched my legs and arms all day. It was like I had a bug bite every where. When I told my doctor about it he said itching is a symptom but a rare one. He said it could be my nerves. He gave me a low dose of xanex that help a little bit. The itching totally stoped after I started chemo but there was so much going on at that time no telling what was actually causing it. I would go to the doctor to get answers. Because you stressing out that your itching is due to cancer could be causing the itching. Keep us posted.
