Hi Stacey, firstly congratulations on the new baby! It seems you have lost alot of weight since the birth and are to be congratulated for that too but, from what you say, you may not be eating properly and, especially having a baby to look after, I would think you need to be eating healthily. So I hope you are looking into that....you need all your energy as your baby develops!

Is it possible that the node was there before you lost the weight but you did not notice it? Quite often when we lose weight, nodes tend to be more obvious as we have less fat covering them. It might be that you had an infection at some point but nodes can remain long after the infection has cleared up.

As you are concerned, I would suggest you see your doctor again to put your mind at rest. Keep us posted.

Even when Iwas heavy my neck was always skinny that you could feel if a lump was there. Also during my pregnancy I had a sono of my thyroid and neck. Only nodules in thyroid. I havent been sick in yrs and had blood work right after the baby. Thankyou for answering. Hopefully it turns out good. The node seems a little bigger.

If it helps any, I had 3 very large, hard and painless lymphs on my neck (left side) about 4 years ago that were there for about 2 months and I must say, I had myself dead and buried 10 times over. The doctor wasn't concerned nor were the specialists, even after trying 4 different types of antibiotics.

The strange thing was I had to go to a dermatologist for an unrelated problem, on my leg. Anyway, whilst there I thought I'd mention my lymphs on the off chance he'd maybe have a clue, even though it wasn't his area of expertise. Did an examination of my scalp and to my surprise the dermatologist found an infected area on my scalp. Said he'd put his mortgage on that being the cause of my lymph swell (he also found another swollen lymph on my scalp just below it) Well, after a week of putting some acid antibacterial cream on the affected area, my lymphs started to turn soft then disappeared. I was due to have the lymphs biopsied the following week and needless to say the oncologist was more than happy to accept that this was the cause of my swellings.

So in short, never think the worst until you've been thoroughly examined.

The infection on my head didn't hurt, itch or show up on any blood work so I wasn't even aware it was there in the first place.

Thankyou very much. I havent replied cause I couldnt figure out how too. Well I do have egzema on my hands so maybe thats why. But Ive had egzema for yrs. I know its hard not to think the worst. Especially me working in a hospital. I see alot of cancers. Ive been sick over this. I had nodules in my thyroid biopsied and they were neg. Thanks again.
