Does spotting reset 12-month count to Menopause?

Sorry hun, but I think it probably does count....reset your count. And tell your doc to be sure.
Happening to me now....I'm 58 n ready to be done.went as long as 8 months.

It sort of depends. Talk with your gyno. As long as you have your ovaries, you could possibly have bleeding that is normal. And you are welcome to say you are menopausal if you want! I wouldn't let this stop me. The only time it counts is if you are going to have surgery. If it hasn't been more than 12 months they usually want a pregnancy test. Also, if you are so inclined, HRT can take care of that so you won't have a period.

I would say yes. Have it checked out by your doctor. It’s not uncommon at all to go 6, 8, 10 months and then bleed and have to start back at square one. Happened to my sister at month 11!

Hi lily2001. Ive replied to your other post. I have had virtually the same as you only I went 9 months without a period - then started brown discharge - very light - almost unnoticeable on and off over last two weeks!! I'm worried too as doesnt seem typical and I too have booked a Docs appt.

my general discharge down there seems a bit weird - sometimes milky white and more than I used to have I think!! Not nasty or smelly - but just not my usual.

I responded to the other post but yes, brown discharge is normal. It's just old blood that wasn't expelled in a previous period.
