Post menopause and nausea?

Hello everyone,
Im just curios for those that are post menopausal, do you occassionly get a bit of nausea from time to time? I'm not on HRT or anything but noticed from time to time I get a little bit of nausea. It doesn't last long but I have noticed it. I also notice that when I have it, I have the butterfly feeling which I'm not sure why. I'm about 8 months post and really don't know what to expect as no one has told me. I know everyone is different though.

Re: Post menopause and nausea?

what does 8 months past mean? Are you without a period for 8 months or has it been 18 months since your last cycle?

Nausea is not a symptom of post menopause; however, if it has only been 8 months since your last period, its possible you are still ovulating and what you are feeling are minor cramps...you need to be a full year past your last period to be considered "in" menopause and even then it can last up to 8 years before you are through it.

Talk to your gyn...or your family doctor...it is possible that this is not at all connected.

Periodic nausea is a symptom of soooo many things. If you had nausea during your periods, it could be hormonal. It could also be post nasal drip, gallbladder issues, inner ear,etc..

By 8 months post, means that it's been 8 MO since my 12 mo mark of having no periods. I was told that after you go a year with no period, you are considered post menopause. I was just curious as it doesn't happen a lot.

Re: Post menopause and nausea?

I experienced quite a bit of nausea but don't know if it was due to menopause. I had an unwarranted hysterectomy with ovary removal so my "menopause" was abrupt and severe. And it's possible my gallbladder and/or other organs were traumatized from the surgery.
