Question 122 days since last period

    Hi all,
I am 45 and have been experience peri for over a year but still mostly having regular periods. In September, I went 44 days then 17 (that was around Thanksgiving) and now its been 122 days. Iíve been having hot flashes and night sweats and also some cramping, although pretty mild. Today, I finally called my gyno and I am going for a blood test on April 5, then an ultrasound and to meet with him on April 9. As though itís some big joke, Iíve been having really bad cramps all afternoon/evening and my boobs are a bit tender, which hasnít happened in the last few months so now I am waiting to see if I start bleeding!
My mom died of uterine cancer (at 72), as did her sister, so I am reluctant to wait too long. Iím sure this is just more peri-menopausal joy, but Iíd like to make sure nothing else is going on. Anyone else have a similar experience with missing 4 periods, but having cramps? I guess I thought theyíd kind of sputter for longer before taking a leave of absence.

    Thanks!

Oh that's so normal! It's ups and downs with peri-not a slow downhill slide. But an FSH test may or may not tell you anything. You won't know which way the fluctuation is going that day. But it's certainly good to do one just to see. 34 is considered menopausal. Your gyno can counsel you and offer other solutions. Don't know if you are so inclined but birth control can even things out.

I am sure this is just normal Peri symtoms, but its good that you are being checked out since there is a family history. Hang in there..the blood test will tell your doctor exactly where you are on the scale...and meno is not far away!

Thank you both! I agree, it is probably completely normal. I'll come back when I have more info! At least getting some numbers from the blood work will be good

I echo the others' sentiments... likely just typical perimenopausal symptoms. And the FSH test is not so helpful. Let us know how your appointment goes.
