Period (I think) after 8 months without

I am posting to find out if anyone else has experienced this. My last "real" period was in May 2019. Between that time and now, I've had an occasional spotting but nothing significant. I've also had some phantom periods where I thought for sure it was starting and nothing.

About two weeks ago, I noticed that my breasts were tender which has happened since May. I found that odd but didn't think anything more about it. Then, I started to feel some mild cramping and a week later....I woke up bleeding. The odd thing is, though, that I woke up bleeding. Then, throughout the day barely anything. The next morning, woke up bleeding again and then throughout the day, hardly anything. This has been going on for a week now. It's like sporadically bleeding and cramps. It's annoying because I can't go without anything because I never know when that sporadic bleeding will occur.

I guess I can consider this a period, right? Thinking back, too, I can distinctly remember feeling ovulation pain, too, so it must have been a regular period just no where near as heavy as I used to experience.

So, I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced this type of "period" before. The on/off bleeding with cramps.

I guess my counting begins again, too. :dizzy:
