    Postmenopausal spotting

So I had my last period in 2018
and 3 days ago, went to the bathroom and saw spotting. Hasnít happened since but so have some weird yellowish discharge that I havenít had before. The very next day, saw my gyn, and checked everything and said she didnít see any remnants of blood whatsoever. Ordered an ultrasound. Had the ultrasound done. Ovaries look fine, but this is what the endometrium portion says: Normal endometrium 0.2 with equivocal thickening near fundus 0.53 cm. No mass. If more imaging is suggested, recommend sonohysterography. I am so worried now. I work at a hospital and know the actual radiologist who read the report and also called another colleague I know that both said the US didnít look worrisome but I should still have the sonohysterography. I have health anxiety so this is sending me into a rabbit hole. Can someone please give me some words of advise or experiences of their own please?

    Re: Postmenopausal spotting

I'm sorry that no one told you the one thing you needed to know: as long as you have your ovaries you can still have spotting. I had a one time instance several years after menopause and that's what my gyno's office told me when I called afterwards. That was maybe 16-17 years ago. No problems since. That spotting was faint red. You don't say what color yours was but I will tell you that brown blood is old blood that wasn't expelled in a previous period. I suggest that you go on and have the test just to ease your mind.

I also suggest get testing done to confirm nothing else is going on.

It's all a matter of perspective!
