Question Tingling in fingers and toes

I am 40 years old and definately having fun with all the perimenopausal symtoms.
One I don't hear much about is tingling in the fingers and toes. Does anyone get this?

Re: Tingling in fingers and toes

Yes!!! I've had the tingling in the fingers and toes. For the longest time I thought I had MS or Lupus. Perimenopause never crossed my mind. I'm almost 37 and thought I had some years before I had to concern myself with these changes. But lo and behold after an exam and questions about some baffling symptoms, it all became clear---PERIMENOPAUSE!!!!

Re: Tingling in fingers and toes

Is there any thing that helps relieve it? Does it always stay with you or does it come and go? Thanks!

It comes and goes. I notice it more during the winter months when it's cold. I do wonder if there's anything that could be taken to relieve it. Maybe vitamins- calcium, magnesium, and Bcomplex. Worth a try!

Yes! I notice it especially in my hands and fingers. Sometimes in my feet when I am laying down. I think that the vitamins (B-complex, C, and Magnesium) help it though. I had gotten a bit lazy about taking my vitamins, and really had a bad bout with tingly hands and fingers. I got back on track with vitamins and noticed an improvement.

I am taking a multi vitamin, so I would think I should get enough of those. Should I supplement more?

Use to drive me nuts! I've had just about every symptom under the sun. I got them in my arms, fingers, toes, back, etc. even the lips
just remember that you will not get sick from it. hang in there.

I do--mostly when I have been to the grocery store and picked up cold things or alot of bags. It is in the tops of my fingers mostly. I take calcium daily.
I thought it might have been from some of my migraine medication, maybe not.

It coulid be, you will have to experiment with that. Not everyone who has meno will have the tingling. I believe the tingling we get is the change in cellular and muscular with the loss of estrogen, the other is just plain ole anxiety.

Re: Tingling in fingers and toes

I've had that tingling, sort of a zapping sensation, in my left foot occasionally for many years. When I had it checked out back in my 30's I was told that it was from poor circulation. After doing a search on the internet I found that a few vitamins would help with this symptom. I read somewhere about runners having this sensation and that magnesium was helpful.
