Unhappy Why is my head so foggy/dizzy? Please help me!!!

Hello Everyone, I need some answers from anyone who has or is going thru the same symptoms as I. I will make this story short. Three years ago I was diagnosed with a brain tumor in the front of my head. I have had no symptoms from this. The neurosurgeons tell me that it has not grown, and is not causing me any problems. Well, that was up until 6-7 months ago.I started to have a foggy/dizzy head. I am 47 years old, and my period is not normal. I bled the whole month of Dec., 3 days in Jan. and then for 7 the very last day of Feb. into March. My question is does anyone else out there have the same problem that I am describing about my head. Some weeks it will hit me and lasts for hours. I have even left work because it scares me so bad. I run home and get into bed and wait for it to pass. If it is not coming from the tumor is this possibly coming from menopause???
Hope to hear from anyone that can help.
Stay healthy and God Bless

Re: Why is my head so foggy/dizzy? Please help me!!!

Rene,
I am 46 and I get the dizzy foggy head feeling also. I usually get this with anxiety or after a bout of anxiety. Some days though, I feel like I am not in my own body like I am looking through a window at life. It's weird. I'm not sure that is what you are feeling or not. Considering your medical history, I would keep in close contact with your doctors. Foggy head and dizziness can be a perimenopause symptom and since you are experiencing strange cycles, your problems may be due to peri. T.

Re: Why is my head so foggy/dizzy? Please help me!!!

Hello...
I have been very frightened by what you describe--in addition I have had pressure in my head-like an old fashioned bathing cap feeling...then the pressure was on the sides of my head...as a matter of fact, I have had NO pressure for one week now (knock on wood!)...also....an electric current type feeling then reduced to a still buzzing in my head--mostly at night....
I couldnt even get comfortable on the pillow because of the pressure...
What have I done for this????
First, because you wrote of this....my brother(46)passed from a brain tumor (glioblastoma multiforme) so I had a catscan and MRI...I have had numerous blood tests and all the heart tests and everything appears to be fine . I also see a chirpractor as I have moderate-severe arthritis on the right side of my neck and the adjustments have alleviated alot of the pressure that goes into my head--I was surprised that some of it was coming from my neck evidently...so much of this is being attributed to (peri)menopause (I am 51 1/2)--I am having erratic periods and other "common" menopause sypmtoms
One doctor mentioned that some people have the same syptoms as someone who has had something serious...but I told her that my symptoms came a full 2 years after my brother passed.....
I hope it is helpful to know that others do experience similar scary symptoms that arent commonly mentioned with menopause but do happen more often than I ever thought
thanks for sharing your experience...I hope you have seeked out the help of a really good brain tumor specialist.

Well, I have NO short term memory, good grief, I told my family that they were not allowed to say "Don't you remember...." Sheesh!! I also teach preschool (good thing it's not a higher grade level) and after we do lesson planning the two other members of my team go home and I sit there for an hour writing out the plan in longhand and in detail...otherwise it's as though I never planned! I also will be listening to someone talk to me and oh boy, it starts to be the old "Charlie Brown adult/teacher voice" - waa waa, waa waa waa wuuuuuu. I'm just staring at their face and thinking - well, I'll figure out what they said later.

It's happening to a lot of my friends (I'm 47) and I'm sure it's hormones... maybe God's way of making me let go of my teenagers and make them deal with their lives themselves!!

Re: Why is my head so foggy/dizzy? Please help me!!!

Hello Rene.... I too feel your pain and fustration! I have and I am going through peri menopause/menopause. 10 Years of this wonderful ride.... I just watched a very wonderful 2 hour special on Menopause. A doctor Northrope spoke, and the first thing she said was " the ovary and the brain have a big conection" HUMMMMMM?????? I really beleive this foggy head and funny head is coming from your hormones. UP and DOWN and turned sideways! She said its like a rebirth of ourselves. We are now headed into the second half of our lives, and she has been to the top of the mountain, and is on her way down, and she said. "ITS GOING TO BE ALRIGHT". I have been there, felt it, and it has scared me really bad. I would think that I was going to pass out, or die at the store, or anywhere in public. I would run home, and ahhhh, there I felt safe! The mind is a very powerful thing. Read all you can, research all the time, and never stop asking questions. Never give up. Keep moving forward. You will finally get the help you need, I know you will. God Bless...Janatee!!!!!!!

Re: Why is my head so foggy/dizzy? Please help me!!!

Hello MarciB... First let me say, I lived in Maple Shade for many years, and worked at CHPD in Cherry Hill. Small world. Rene 24 is my sister. Anyway to answer your question: I do not know if this special will be repeated, but I saw it on Public Television. Yes, that is the same doctor. She is great, and I have read her book also. I do know she has this program and more all on CD's. I'm sure if you research her name, and or Public Tv. you should be able to find what you are looking for. Its worth it. She was describing ME...and I'm sure many many more woman of the world. Good luck. Take care... Janatee
