    Internal Trembling and Shaking

Wondering how it goes with other tremblers...I know we had posted some time ago and was wondering if any of my fellow internal trembling buddies have found that they follow a pattern and if anything has helped you get it under control!

    Re: Internal Trembling and Shaking

Buzzbabe3 - Hi there, I have had internal trembling and shaking for a year now and some days it is very mild and other days its worse. I also notice that when I am painting my nails, sometimes my fingers shake, do you get that too? Or is it just internal only. I have the internal as well when my fingers kind of shake a little. I hate this feeling ......

    Re: Internal Trembling and Shaking

Still have my internal shaking, but its a little better. Not sure if I am getting used to it or its milder, but its been more bearable. I have not done much except tried buspar for 2 weeks and then stopped. Not sure if that did anything or not. I am still tired, appetite is better.

I am hoping that this is an upswing for me.

Question Re: Internal Trembling and Shaking

Well, I just started this trembling business in March, and I had been VERY worried about it until reading some of the entries on old threads. It's been comforting to know that others have this trembling/vibrating, too! My pharmacist mentioned that it could be related to menopause and hormones, so maybe it is. Mine started when I woke up at 3:00am one night vibrating from the waist up! Since then, it just stays with me. Sometimes others can see my hand tremble, but most of the time, I just feel it inside. It's a very weird thing that I've never heard anyone relate to menopause before. My question is: should I go to see a neurologist?? or is it really just a benign menopausal symptom?

I am only in perimeno and I got this trembling. I would definitely see a Dr and get some tests done to rule out other things it could be like thyroid or other issues. Just in case, cause you never know.

Mine was better for a bit, but now is back stronger.

Unhappy Re: Internal Trembling and Shaking

    Hello all.

I feel like I have been in perimenopause for EVER. I know I am going to make it into the Guinness Book of World records for the longest perim- EVER.

I started that odd trembling also. I have tried to describe it to husband and doctor - like there is low voltage electical current running through me.

No one has had any helpful reasoning for it. I have been tested for so many crazy diseases and nothing is really making any sense.

So, if anyone KNOWS that this is part of that big MENOPAUSE trip, I sure would like to hear it.

Peace of mind is a wonderful thing.

Thanks to all of you gals who lift up and support those of us who are "shaking" in fear and menopause..... or whatever it is....

    Re: Internal Trembling and Shaking

The trembling thing was what brought me to the healthboards and I started this post thread...I hear you all...and it is true that most doctors say that it is not a usual symptoms...but I feel so reassured because we are all feeling this...of course, you need to look at the entire picture and have your doc check you out...to be sure...but I am becoming more convinced that it is menopause. I think that there are those of us who have the standard...run of the mill...hellish symptoms and then there are those of us who get the weird quirky unusual ones...we need to keep expressing these symptoms and letting our healthcare professionals know about these...as it truly is a common complaint for a great many of us. Obviously check to be sure that it isnt anything more serious...but I am leaning towards this being a true symptom. I will tell you that my shaking has lessened especially at night since I have started to occasionally take an anti-anxiety and I am getting more sleep...I am also trying some hormones for a bit...I am planning to stop them and see what happens with the symptoms and if they intensify then I will know that it is hormonally based! Stay strong!!!!

    Re: Internal Trembling and Shaking

No remedies, still trembling. Small amounts of ativan helps at times. I try not to take it but lately have no choice. I also feel tired and weak. Also noticed I have been more emotional, feel like crying more than usual. Have my period now, but don't remember being quite this emotional. Guess its the hormones working up again.

Buzzbabe, were you ever around or worked in any places involved with chemicals or something similiar?

SillyMe03...Not really...I believe I remember you mentioning that you were around chemicals a great deal. I worked for a short time around sign making vinyl but not in the production of it...just around some of the products. And it was actually a brief time Have you researched the chemical issue at all?

    Re: Internal Trembling and Shaking

Interesting--someone mentioned rule out other things...well mine first started 9/05...lots of pressure in my head....and I called it low level vibrating in my head and upper body....it has reduced alot...but the interesting part is someone mentioned thyroid...recently i was put on Synthroid as the pattern of slowing down of my thyroid ws quite eveident over the past 3 yrs and my thyroid became enlarged and i have small nodules..I will be interested to see if the vibration stops once my thyroid is more normal...(have only been on the meds 3 weeks)
I have ruled out everything else...went on a quest beginning almost 3 yrs ago since my symptoms became so severe and i had so many of them...so I went on bioidentical homrones and decided to do my part and get as healty as possible---lost excess weight and exercise about 5 times per week...i dont want anything else in the way when I try to get doctor help! and all that other stuff complicates things!

I have not researched the chemical thing because I was around so many different kinds at different places. It was just a curiosity question to see if some of us had a common thread and if that could be an underlying issue.

I also had many tests when this first started in 2003. From Ct Scans, Brain MRI, blood, thyroid, endoscopy for loss of appetite and more. Pretty much all were normal, or if something was slightly off, it was nothing that could cause my symptoms.

However a few weeks after seeing a specialist at the Cleveland clinic I started feeling better and for 4 years I was able to function decently. Not at 100% of what I was, but much better than what I am now.

Something triggered a new episode for me in January, perhaps stress, perhaps hormones or something else.

Recently I have only had a bunch of bloodwork, so far they did find Pre-Diabetes, but that wold not be giving me most of my symptoms. I am going to a cardiologist today to double check if I have low Bp and other issues like circulation.

The first time this happened, it lasted a few months and got better after the CC visit, whether it was psychological or not I don't know, but I have had this since January and so far not much luck getting better. Some days (actually most) it really gets to me and hinders what I can do.

What tests have you had done beside thyroid? What are your symptoms beside vibrations?

I had a bunch of thyroid tests, all normal including antibodies.
