Re: intact PTH is 122....could this be perimenopausal symptom???
Not sure the two are related - could be hyperparathyroid and perimenopause. I understand parathyroid problems are common in women in their 40s.
As posted elsewhere, I had the parathyroid problem 5 years ago (I am 49 years old now). My calcium blood level was only barely above normal, so no one thought it was a big deal. But they it ended up it was slightly elevated at my annual physical in two consecutive years. After some blood in my urine developed, a kidney stone ended up leading them to the parathyroid issue. Even though calcium was only barely elevated, my PTH blood test was 300+ (and normal is 12 to 75). Had a parathyroidectomy of one parathyroid and was much better.
I am also in perimenopause as well. HRT was the lifesaver for me. Check my posts on other threads for the details.
Take care - and keep the faith!
