Hi all!
Anyone have any "natural" solutions for insomnia. I am perimenopausal, am being treated for low "hypo" thyroid , have SVT ( heart arrythmia). I take magnesium,calcium, fish oil and low dose of natural progesterone ( testing showed estrogen dominance).
I have TERRIBLE insomnia at times, seems to getting worse. I tried ambien past ( got terrible headaches), melatonin, valerian root all to no avail.
I keep thinking this is only perimenopause what menopause be like!!!!!!!!
Thanks for ANY ideas.

I struggle with sleep problems too since having a hysterectomy. Ambien works for me but I try not to use it. I will if I'm traveling. But what I've found works is, exercise like walking and swimming and yoga, especially a gentle restorative class, try deep breathing, even if you just sit on the couch or lie on the floor with gentle music. I also drink tea just before bedtime. Traditional Medicinals brand, the Nighty Night. I drink the EasyNow flavor when I get home from work. Watch what you eat, eat a light supper, eat early and try to go to bed everynight aroud 10:00pm to get yourself in a good pattern. It's a lot of effort but you've got to get your sleep in order to keep your immune system up and stay healthy. Good Luck.
