Could I have perimenopause at 41 years old?

Hi everyone. I am 41 years old and on Yaz birth control pills. I noticed for the 1st time that I only had a very light 1 day period and that was it.. I felt like I was going to have my full period but I did not and I usually bleed around 3 days. My question is.. could this be just a fluke or could it possibly mean the start of perimenopause for me? I have had some trouble sleeping and I get warm at times throughout the day. I an sorry for the questions.. I am just new to this!! Thanks!!

I have read a lot about it on these posts and lots of books. I think peri-menopause can start as early as your 30's for some women. I am 50 now but my symptoms started when I was in my early 40's. I read that from all of the hormones in our food women are starting to get it earlier and earlier. And that girls are starting to have the periods sooner also. I think they said more and more girls are starting the periods at 10 years old, again from all of the processed crap we eat.

How long have you been on BCP's? Maybe it's time for you to get off of them. If you've been on them for a long time you could be increasing your risk of cancer. If you are perimenopausal they could make a difference with your hormones. You could be getting too much estrogen on top of it. When's the last time you had a hormone level check? You need to discuss this with your doctor. I agree with what Shell1 says, too. Our world is full of stuff that causes Estrogen Dominance in us and we don't realize it until we hit menopause and then need HRT because we're all out of whack. Good luck
