Unhappy Dizziness help!!

I have recently had FSH blood test result came back 52 so doc says menopause. My periods have been reasonably regular (although for the past 18 months I have bleed for approx 12 days) apart from one a couple of months ago came after 17 days. Then this month nothing currently on 40 days. I have night sweats but not in the day time. Recently I have had neck and shoulder pains with headaches, so I thought tension headaches. Shoulders and neck now a little better but now I am just dizzy all the time. It is awful everytime I move my head I feel like I am going to fall over! Went to the GP and she gave me tablets for vertigo. I have taken them for a week no difference, in fact I think it is worse so have stopped taking them. I can deal with the night sweats at the moment as they are not to bad but this dizziness is horrible. Will this go on for years?? What a horrible thought! Any suggestions on what I can do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Dizziness help!!

sarah1963: Have you had your blood sugars tested? Dizziness is a symptom of low blood sugar and low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) is also associated with estrogen dominance. What's your estrogen level? If you eat a fast acting carb does it seem to help the dizziness go away? If so, then it's probably your sugars.

If it doesn't get any better go see a neurologist and get an EEG and MRI to make sure there's nothing else going on in your head, like tumors, etc.

Re: Dizziness help!!

Hi Sarah1963,

I have read several posts from other women describing dizziness as part of the meno symptoms. Motion sickness pills are supposed to help, but that's probably what your doctor prescribed for you. Did your doctor check your ears? Sometimes build up of fluid in your ears can cause dizziness.
