finally HRT
Hi all, I'm new here but not new to meno. In 2001 I had Breast cancer. Had a mastectomy and chemo. Finally all these years later my oncologist said it's ok to go on HRT. I started three weeks ago. Granted the horrible almost const. ant sweating and chilling are lessened. The night sweats are better. But I don't feel physically or mentally any different. Exhausted and still moody. I do also have fibromyalgia and that makes me very tired. I recently went off the pain meds my neuroligist had me on. That was hard but I just couldn't take the side effects anymore. But how long does it take for HRT to work? I am sure my body is really confused right now. 11 years with no hormones and all of a sudden here the are. Has anyone waited years before trying hormones. Oh, the chemo put me into meno. I was 49. Val

Re: finally HRT
It could take a couple of months since it's been so long for you. At least you are getting some relief already. Hope it continues!
