Re: Testosterone Level

Assuming that they are referring to his "total" T level and without knowing his age, etc, he is likely 1/4-1/3 of where he should be. There are many other potential issues and factors, but without knowing his symptoms, etc it would be hard to say more. Low energy, low sex drive, irritability. ED, PE and more are all known side effects of low "T".

Re: Testosterone Level

If his test range was 200 to 800 then he has the testosterone levels of a "normal" 90 old male.

If he is 90 then it is normal, if not it should be above 500.

The estradiol E2 should be below 30. The doctor probably did not even test for E2.

Re: Testosterone Level

Getting Hormones check by a GP is a waste of time.... If you have a PPO then find a Endo and call and ask if they are well versed in Male Hormone replacment... this is not a perfect solution but a GP has no idea about this... My GP told me the same thing when I first went to him for Low T symptoms. My first test was 103, then my 2nd test was like 240...Just above the lower limit...they said everything is ok.... the endo understood that this was not good for my age(41). He put me on Androgel and also checked prolactin which was high and was the cause of my low T....eventually he put me on a script for bromocriptine to suppress the prolactin, which was caused my a pituatary adenoma, and then things got better. Not perfect but better... another solution is to find an anti aging Dr. some people have low opinions of them but the one I recently visited was very up on hormone testing and has read all the books I have and then some.... very good exp....so far....

Re: Testosterone Level

I agree. I found a wonderful anti-aging doctor last week that is very knowledgable about this topic and has put me on weekly injections. My GP didn't have a clue.
