Re: Low Testosterone Symptoms?

Hello again,

I know I am sking a lot of questions but I guess asking and researching is good. I guess hayfarmer knows the most by far in here and but anyone can answer please:

1. Why is it that exogenous Testosterone can create side-effects like prostate enlargement, prostate cancer, high reb blood count etc? The medication (Androgel) I am using sais it is the same exact stuff that the body naturaly makes?

2. What happens when someone gets one of there serious side-effects? I guess they stop TRT and they treat the other disease caused by it. Can people jump right back on TRT after they treat the other disease or no?

3. Has anybody heard of any research being done to find a cure for Secondary Hypogonadism? Treatment is fine but how about a cure?

4. I have heard people say that their balls shrink to the size of almonds after 2 years on TRT. Other people say their balls are still fine after 4-5 years of treatment. Why does it happen for some people and for some other?

5. Does anyone know the average life expectancy for people with Secondary Hypogonadism? Research I have done sais that the survival rate is long term.
What does that mean? 10, 20, 30, 40 years?? Remember most people get this disease after 50 or around there. So if they make it up to 70 for example is a good deal but for us younger ones (33), making it to 50, is not such a good deal.

6. Is there an organization or society that drives research funding etc for our condition? There are tons out there for Cancer, Diabetes etc but any for us?
I have been reading that there are estimated about 12 million people in the US only suffering from this disease

Thanks guys!

Re: exogenous Testosterone & Secondary Hypogonadism

I know you got my answers to your questions but they seem to have disappeared. I don't know if you saw my reply to your later questions. My level is running about 750's lately for total T. My estradiol is still too high at around 60 and I am working to get it down.

I can suggest Dr. John Crisler in Lancing Michigan. I suppose you could drive there but I don't know how far that would be. If you have to fly you could also try Eugene Shippen in Shillington, PA.

Also, thank you for the nice complement you gave me. I have been feeling like I should be doing some volunteer work but may I already am on this forum?

Re: Low Testosterone Symptoms?

Hi,

I am on the 100g Androgel right now. Although in general I amfeeling better, it is really hard for me in the morning. I feel like I am out of juice every morning around 6:00 and then 3 hours after I apply the gel I am starting to feel good again. Isn't this weird? It feels like my whole body is aching kind of.

Shouldn't the 100g make me feel good throughout the day? I don't think I can get any higher than that. I will talk to my new doctor about combined HCG and Testosterone shots. But still for now the gel should work. I don't understand why.

Gels don't work for everyone.

Sometimes they get immediately converted to estrogen.

Re: Gels don't work for everyone.

If that is the case, would the shots work for me or am I just out of luck and I have to live the rest of my life feeling not good enough?

I am no expert, but have learned here that the shots (m)

work when gels don't. Gels did nothing for me. I have not taken anything in months and will not until I either see Dr. Shippen this July or hear from beforehand.
Gels can be good in that they provide a daily measured dose ( I hated it, though- too messy, annoying, tough to apply at the gym and a constant reminder of all that is going wrong) and avoid highs & lows. Done right, shots can work just fine.

Re: exogenous Testosterone & Secondary Hypogonadism

Is there a possibility that secondary hypogonadism can be reversed naturally at some point? I am only 33 years old and mine happened pretty quickly. In a matter of 2 weeks I was hypogonadal. It felt like I was hit by a virus.

Can you please ask your doctors if spontaneous reversal is a possibility in such cases?

Thanks!
